Job Description
Active Care is a large primary care and specialty medical group in the west of Ottawa. We serve over 22,000 patients in Ottawa. Located in Kanata North, Beaverbrook and Carlingwood, includes the Kanata West FHO and the following specialist physicians: gynecologist, Pediatric Sports Medicine & Concussions, Pediatric Allergist, and Pediatrician. We are expanding our group with the opening of a new clinic in Beaverbrook.
We are a very collegial group of physicians with varying interests who will be available to support you. The clinic is well staffed with admin support and RPNs. We work with Accuro EMR. On site pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages and their families. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, diagnosing conditions, performing screenings, providing patient education and counselling, developing treatment plans, coordinating referrals, and addressing psychological, social, and environmental health considerations.
- Serve as a clinical resource for members of the interdisciplinary care team by offering guidance, specialized knowledge, and consultation support, including collaboration with nurse practitioners.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient documentation in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in on-call coverage when required and provide care across multiple service sites or practice settings to support operational needs.
Education and Professional Experience
- Medical degree with specialized training in Family Medicine from an accredited institution.
- Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Previous experience providing family medicine services, ideally within a community-based or primary care setting.
Schedule:
- Approximately 4-5 half days per week (flexible scheduling to suit your needs). Half days include 4 hr blocks (3hrs of in person clinic, followed by 1hr of inbox management).
- One evening clinic (5-8pm) every 1.5-2 week approximately
- One Saturday clinic (10am-1pm) every 4-8 weeks
Compensation:
$600 per half day
