Job Description
The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and have, or be eligible for, certification in Geriatric Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The successful candidate must have demonstrated clinical excellence in geriatric medicine. They are expected to have experience across the full continuum of inpatient and outpatient specialized geriatric services, including geriatric trauma and geriatric burn services. Advanced training in a clinical area of focus and/or graduate studies of relevance to geriatric care is an asset. The position will support the clinical needs in diverse geriatric medicine clinical practice settings. Responsibilities will include clinical care of patients on the inpatient consult service and outpatient follow-up for those patients if needed. In the outpatient setting, responsibilities include provision of comprehensive geriatric assessment and management of frail older adults with complex medical, psychosocial and functional issues. The clinical associate will collaborate with interprofessional team members in specialized geriatric services, primary care providers, community agencies and other subspecialists. In addition, the clinical associate is expected to participate in the educational programs of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Sunnybrook. Participation in clinical research and quality improvement programs, as appropriate, would be an asset.
