Brightshores Health System operates six hospitals in the Grey-Bruce region serving a population of approximately 170,000. Our vision is to offer quality health care close to home.

Our hospital in Markdale is a brand new build that opened in September 2023. Markdale Hospital houses a range of ambulatory, in-patient and emergency services and is located 40 minutes South of our Level 2 regional referral centre in Owen Sound. Our supporting Owen Sound site offers a full range of specialty services including complex surgeries, total joint replacements, cancer surgeries, MRI and CT scans.

Team

Family practice opportunities are available in the communities of Markdale, Flesherton, and Dundalk, conveniently located along Highway #10, approximately 100 km north of Brampton.

These opportunities can be combined with scheduled shifts in the 24-hour Emergency Department and/or acute inpatient care coverage, offering a well-rounded scope of practice.

The Centre Grey area is also home to several smaller villages, with a diverse local economy supported by light manufacturing, agriculture, small businesses, artists, artisans, and recreational activities.

Physicians benefit from a collaborative environment with local back-up physician support scheduled daily.

ED Shifts are 12 hours (8a-8p/8p-8a) or full 24-hours if preferred.

Lab, imaging on-site, with 8-bed inpatient unit

We have excellent specialty back-up at our Level 2 regional referral centre in Owen Sound and comprehensive diagnostic imaging.

Qualifications

Interested candidates should be CCFP or CCFP (EM) designated.

Independent license to practice in Ontario.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate (Alternate Funding Agreement) plus percentage of shadow billings.
