The Saskatchewan Health Authority invites applications for locum Emergency Medicine Physicians to provide coverage in Regina, Saskatchewan. Physicians participate in a well-established rotation providing coverage across all shift types, averaging approximately 32 hours per week.Emergency services are delivered 24/7 across two sites in Regina: the Pasqua Hospital, a 218-bed community hospital, and the Regina General Hospital, a 403-bed tertiary care facility and the designated trauma centre for southern Saskatchewan. Both sites are well supported with comprehensive subspecialty services, advanced diagnostic imaging, including three CT scanners and two MRI units, and a collaborative multidisciplinary care environment.The SHA is committed to education and academic excellence and plays an active role in supporting the training of medical students and residents through its partnership with the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine. The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution recognized for innovation and excellence, with more than 26,000 students and 6,500 faculty and staff. The College of Medicine admits approximately 100 medical students annually and supports a broad range of residency training programs. The Department of Family Medicine maintains distributed training sites in both Saskatoon and Regina.

Qualifications:

The candidate will be EM certified with CCFP-EM, ABEM or FRCPC–EM and be eligible for regular licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high-volume environment with a commitment to the provision of high-quality patient and family-centered care.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

The successful applicant is expected to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Emergency Medicine in the Regina Area.
