Position Precis:

Family Physician opportunities exist with the Family Health Network at its clinic in Port Elgin including ER shifts at the Southampton hospital.

The Southampton hospital has 16 beds and offers a 24/7 ER and a range of ambulatory care and day surgery services. It has been been approved for upgrades to their ER and Laboratory.

LOCATION

Southampton is located on the sandy shoreline of Lake Huron, approximately 2.5 hours north of London. Known for their sunken ships, lighthouses and colourful sunsets, Southampton is a virtual paradise for all outdoor enthusiasts.

Licence to practise medicine on Ontario

About the Family Medicine Department:

Each of Brightshores’ six hospitals has a family medicine department. There are independent, group and clinic models of practice across the corporation. In the rural hospitals, family physicians provide 24/7 emergency coverage and GP anesthesia in three hospitals. The urban hospital in Owen Sound includes a small number of family physicians who continue with emergency and obstetrics practices, in addition to their office practices and inpatient care.
