ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services – Central Zone is seeking a Family Medicine Obstetrics Physician to join the GP Obstetrics Program (GPOBS) at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander, NL.

The successful candidate will provide professional quality medical services in an interdisciplinary approach to patient care, and will promote and maintain positive relationships with all clients, patients, visitors, and staff. We are looking for individuals with strong leadership and communication capabilities who can motivate team members, move projects forward, and translate innovative ideas into reality.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
• Eligible for membership of the medical staff of NL Health Services
• Demonstrates commitment to patient-focused care and evidence-based practice
• OBGYN experience preferred but not mandatory

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide clinical care — both inpatient and ambulatory — within the GP Obstetrics Program
• Promote research within the division
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary colleagues for teaching and research
• Conduct Physician Performance Appraisals and address areas of concern at the direction of the Clinical Chief
• Additional duties to be discussed during the interview
