ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services – Central Zone is seeking a Psychiatrist to join the team at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander, NL. This position requires demonstrated experience working within an interprofessional practice model and experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Experience working with patients with complex needs and treatment resistance is considered an asset. On-call is scheduled on an equitable basis with other members of the Discipline.
James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre is one of Central Zone's key referral centres, serving approximately 90,000 people across 176 communities in central Newfoundland. Central Zone provides a variety of primary, secondary, long-term care, community health, and enhanced secondary services across a region that extends from Charlottetown in the east, Fogo Island in the north, Harbour Breton in the south, to Baie Verte in the west.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible for licensure as a Psychiatrist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified or eligible
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services Central Zone
- Demonstrated experience working within an interprofessional practice model
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings
- Experience with complex needs and treatment-resistant patients (asset)
- Satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
- Satisfactory record of work performance and attendance

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric services within inpatient and outpatient settings
- Work as part of an interprofessional team to deliver high-quality mental health care
- Participate in on-call coverage on an equitable basis with other members of the Discipline
- Provide consultations to other clinical teams as required
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION
CAD $312,928.61 - CAD $338,948.24, in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Available Incentives:
- Physician Signing Bonus — CAD 150,000 + CAD 25,000 top-up
- Come Home Incentive — CAD 100,000 (if eligibility criteria are met)
- Annual Retention Bonus (in accordance with current MOA)
