Job Description

Recovery Alberta, Central Zone, is actively recruiting a full-time Family Medicine Physician to join a collaborative and dynamic team caring for clients in the Seniors Inpatient units at CCMHBI in the community of Ponoka. This position requires a scope of practice that includes: Seniors Inpatient Units, On-Call and will be expected to work with medical students and resident physicians once they are orientated and have their clinical appointment. 

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reside in and have their primary residence within the community of Ponoka;
  • Obtain and maintain a Recovery Alberta Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
  • Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full time participation in the Facility On-Call Program schedule, as required; 
  • Abide by the Recovery Alberta Medical Staff Bylaws, the Recovery Alberta Medical Staff Rules and Recovery Alberta policies;
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine;
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care

 

Once chosen, the successful candidates may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or opening their own practice. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.
