Temiskaming Hospital invites applications for a Full-Time Emergency Medicine Physician to join our dynamic and collaborative team. Located in the heart of Northern Ontario’s scenic Temiskaming Shores, this is an ideal opportunity for physicians seeking meaningful rural practice, professional growth, and an unbeatable lifestyle.
As an integral part of our emergency department, you will:
· provide an average of 120 hours per month and associated second on-call coverage (6 and 12 hour shifts);
· deliver trauma-informed, culturally safe, patient- and family-centered care in a supportive and collegial environment; and
· have the opportunity to mentor the next generation of physicians through our teaching affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM).

What You Bring
- Independent licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- CCFP or FRCPC designation (preferred)
- Current certification or willingness to obtain: ACLS, PALS, and ATLS (or equivalent certification)
- A strong commitment to collaboration, trauma-informed care, and cultural safety
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Temiskaming Hospital is a 70-bed small community hospital proudly serving a population of 17,000 locally—and up to 33,000 across the region—for obstetrics, Level 1B nursery, medical imaging (including CT), and laboratory services. With annual ED volumes exceeding 14,500, you will be supported by 24-hour lab and imaging services (onsite + on-call), one physician on call, and an exceptional nursing team.

Compensation & Incentives
- Remuneration through the Emergency Department Alternate Funding Agreement (AFA) – Hourly rate $220 (days) $245 (nights)
- 22.5% shadow billing during business hours and 25% for after hours/holidays.
- Additional billing opportunities, eg. Second on call
