GP/FP Anesthesiologist Full Time  

Opportunity for full time Anesthesiologist and/or Family Practice Anesthesia.  Choose to work anesthesia full time or design your own practice to include any number of other opportunities a rural practice offers: ER, Family practice, Hospitalist, interventional pain clinic, LTC, etc.  

Competitive remuneration with APP. Slate fees of $623 per 4 hours, plus shadow billing, plus callbacks billed per 4 hours and overtime if needed.  Per diem is paid at approximately $1000/ 24hrs call, plus HOCC. Call is typically 0800 Monday to 0800 the following Monday but can be flexible.   

Surgical services include - General surgery including endoscopy, OB (both epidural and c-section coverage), visiting Urology, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Dentals etc.  Typical OR day will run 0800- 1430 with after-hours call for Surgery, Labor and Delivery, and ER for support with Resuscitations, Airway management, Conscious sedations and line placements etc.  

Fort Frances is home to a collegial group of Family Physicians that provide ER, inpatient care coverage and obstetrical surgical skills. CT, X-ray and Laboratory are available (callback after late evening). The ER at La Verendrye Hospital (Riverside Health Care) has approximately 19,000 visits per year.  Fort Frances is a rural, remote borderland community serving a catchment area of 18,000 residents.  

We are a teaching site for Northern Ontario School of Medicine. As such, we regularly have medical students and residents in various stages of their educational journey. With NOSM and Northern Ontario Academic Medicine Association (NOAMA) Fort Frances Local Education Group offers all local NOSM Faculty access to generous CME funding and research opportunities. Moving expenses available through the Fort Frances Recruitment and Retention Committee.
