Job Description
The Department of Pediatric and Neonatal Medicine is recruiting for Pediatric locums to cover gaps in our schedule.
The Timmins and District Hospital is a 225-bed district hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. Timmins is located in Northeastern Ontario, and is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital, and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care, and Mental Health Services.
Details of Pediatric work:
On-call coverage includes neonatal and pediatric inpatient care. The neonatal unit provides intensive care to newborns and has a 5-bed capacity. Timmins and District Hospital manages babies with a gestational age of 34 weeks and above and serves as a Level 2A. Deliveries average 600 per year. Children requiring inpatient pediatric care are served by a five-bed inpatient unit.
Remuneration is is $2,131.29/day plus 42% of shadow billings.
Your traveling expenses of airfare and/or mileage, local car rental, and accommodations will be covered.
Position Requirements
Candidates must:
- have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics.
- be licensed to practice as an Pediatrician in the Province of Ontario.
- have Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
- have an active OHIP billing number
- possess excellent clinical skills.
- have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
** Approval based on successful credentialing for medical staff privileges.
