Job Description
Full-Time Neurologist – Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine,
Michael Garrron Hospital
The Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), part of Toronto East Health Network (TEHN), is seeking a full-time Neurologist to join a collaborative and growing division. MGH is a community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto and Toronto Metropolitan University, serving one of Canada’s most diverse communities. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality neurological care across inpatient and outpatient settings and support the academic, quality, and service mission of the Department of Medicine.
The successful candidate must hold a Medical Degree, MBBS or equivalent thereto and certification in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or hold equivalent specialist qualifications that support eligibility for licensure in Ontario. The candidate must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and for appointment to the medical staff at Michael Garron Hospital. Evidence of excellent clinical judgment, strong interprofessional collaboration, and a commitment to patient-centred care in a diverse community setting is required.
This is a full-time clinical appointment based at Michael Garron Hospital. The successful candidate will provide neurological care in outpatient clinics, inpatient neurology consultation and service responsibilities, and equitable participation in the neurology call schedule. The role includes performance and interpretation of electroencephalography (EEG) studies and other customary neurology-related clinical duties consistent with the candidate’s qualifications, hospital privileges, and divisional requirements. Professional activities are expected to represent a full-time clinical commitment, with service allocation determined by operational requirements and divisional leadership.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in divisional and departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and other professional responsibilities associated with membership in the Division of Neurology. A demonstrated commitment to medical education, including teaching and supervision of trainees where applicable, is expected. Participation in scholarly, quality improvement, and hospital committee activities is encouraged and will be considered an asset.
Michael Garron Hospital is committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible workplace. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, in accordance with Canadian immigration and employment requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. International applicants are welcome to apply. The hospital may provide supporting documentation in relation to immigration or work permit processes where appropriate and where a suitable Canadian citizen or permanent resident is not identified through the recruitment process.
Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $300, 000 to $400, 000 per annum (based on expected fee for service billing of OHIP).
All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English. Applications should include a letter of interest and current curriculum vitae. Select applicants will be invited for interview.
Application package should be submitted by midnight on October 26, 2026 to Joanna Bootherstone (***@tehn.ca (🔒 Premium)" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">***@tehn.ca (🔒 Premium)) and addressed to:
