Job Description
- Establish and maintain a full-time General Internal Medicine practice within the community of Medicine Hat. A full-time practice is defined as providing clinical services a minimum of five (5) days per week and/or forty (40) hours per week, or equivalent clinical shifts consistent with other full-time physicians, as determined by the appropriate Medical Leader.
- Provide inpatient care and community-based consultations within Medicine Hat and the surrounding region.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities in accordance with Alberta Health Services’ scheduling expectations and the Southeast Corridor Clinical Department of Medicine requirements.
- Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate clinical privileges.
- Establish a primary residence within Medicine Hat or the surrounding area.
- Work collaboratively with physician colleagues, interdisciplinary teams, and healthcare staff in support of high-quality patient care.
- Adhere to AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental programs supporting ongoing excellence in patient care and clinical service delivery.
- Hold FRCPC certification in Internal Medicine.
- Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
- Participate in the Department of Medicine on-call rotation in accordance with departmental expectations.
