Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) – Saskatoon and University of Saskatchewan (USask), Department of Pediatrics within the College of Medicine is seeking a full-time general pediatric specialist for a 12-month locum term. The start date is flexible ranging from August 1, 2026 to July 1, 2027.

The position will include inpatient services provided at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH), as well as outpatient consultant-based services (no primary care). Inpatient service includes 10 weeks of pediatric clinical teaching unit (CTU) at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (tertiary care teaching hospital) and 4-5 general pediatrics clinics per week when not on CTU.

Possibilities for part time contracts also exists, as well as flexibility if candidates wish to focus only on inpatient work.

The successful applicants will provide clinical services as members of the Department of Pediatrics and will hold appointments with both the University of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Appointment with the university will be at the assistant, associate or full professor level.

Centrally located on the University of Saskatchewan campus, our new children’s hospital offers neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, general pediatrics, pediatric emergency and ambulatory services. Maternal services include labour and delivery, antepartum and postpartum care. Candidates in consideration will hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).
