The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary Zone, the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary is actively recruiting for a 0.5FTE Generalist at the Peter Lougheed Centre. The anticipated start date for this position is July 2027; however, this is negotiable. The successful candidate will be allocated 0.5 FTE worth of call to cover acute Obstetrics and Gynecology services and be provided with 1-2 days in the OR a month. This new recruit would also be expected to contribute to prenatal patients to the PLC Obstetrics call group and while on call, would be expected to care for the PLC OBGYN group patients. There is an expectation that this candidate accepts referrals for surgical and non-surgical outpatient gynecology. It is also expected that this candidate contributes to undergraduate and post-graduate medical trainee teaching (in an outpatient and inpatient capacity) and share in the administrative responsibilities at our site. They could also pick-up additional call that becomes available and assist in the OR. Candidates must have their FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and preference will be given to a candidate with interest in working with vulnerable (equity-deserving) populations in Northeast Calgary. All candidates will be required to have clinical academic appointments with the Cummings School of Medicine University of Calgary.

Qualifications:
FRCSC Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Incumbent must be an active member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a member in good standing.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Must read, write and speak English.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority.
