About Meaford Medical Centre
Meaford Medical Centre is a newly established, state-of-the-art integrated healthcare facility opening on September 1, 2026, at 125 Eliza Street, Meaford, Ontario.
Our vision is to transform community healthcare by delivering comprehensive medical services through an innovative "All-Under-One-Roof" model. The Centre will bring together primary care, pharmacy, diagnostic blood collection, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, dentistry, and optometry in one convenient location, creating a seamless patient experience while improving access to quality healthcare for Meaford and the surrounding communities.
We are seeking compassionate, patient-focused Family Physicians and General Practitioners who are interested in joining a collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare team. Opportunities are available on a full-time, part-time, or locum basis, offering flexibility to suit a variety of practice preferences. We are proud to partner with the Municipality of Meaford, which is offering a $30,000 recruitment incentive to qualifying physicians joining our team—a testament to our community’s commitment to investing in high-quality, accessible local healthcare.
Position Summary
The successful physician will provide comprehensive primary healthcare services within our high-volume walk-in clinic while collaborating with an experienced multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Physicians will practice in a modern clinical environment equipped with advanced technology, electronic medical records (EMR), and integrated on-site healthcare services designed to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all ages.
- Order, interpret, and review laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
- Prescribe medications and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
- Refer patients to specialists and allied healthcare professionals when clinically appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, dentists, optometrists, and other healthcare providers to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Promote preventative healthcare through patient education and health promotion initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with CPSO standards, OHIP billing requirements, and evidence-based clinical practice.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety and clinical excellence.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent medical degree.
- Independent registration or eligibility for registration with the
- College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) is considered an asset.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
- Strong clinical judgment and patient-centred communication skills.
- Commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare.
- New graduates, experienced physicians, and internationally trained physicians who are eligible to practice in Ontario are encouraged to apply.
