Geriatrician, Division of Seniors’ Health

Trillium Health Partners (THP) is the largest community based academic health network in Ontario serving over one million residents in the communities of Mississauga, Peel Region, and West Toronto. The hospital encompasses three main sites – Credit Valley Hospital (CVH), Mississauga Hospital, and Queensway Health Centre – and multiple other satellite sites offering a full range of acute and post-acute hospital services, as well as a variety of community-based specialized programs. 

The Division of Geriatrics is also active in THP’s Institute for Better Health whose missions are to create a new kind of health care for a healthier community with an unwavering commitment to better health through research and innovation.

The Division of Geriatrics, Trillium Health Partners is seeking One (1) full-time Associate Geriatric Medicine physicians.

The physicians will provide in-patient coverage for our 26 bed Seniors Care Unit at M-site, consultative services at all 3 main THP sites plus satellite sites, as well as out-patient services in the community through virtual visits, home visits and hospital-based clinics.  The physician will also provide support to the Geriatric Medicine Outreach team as well as other future OHAH initiatives for Specialized Geriatric Services. The physician will work with an experienced interdisciplinary team that includes primary nurses, advance practice nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers. The physician will collaborate with multiple regional partners and participate in a regional network of geriatricians for education and regional collaboration.

The Trillium Health Partners service is presently staffed by 19 Geriatricians. 

The organization is an affiliated academic teaching centre with the University of Toronto. The preferred candidate would be expected to participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners, and also have the opportunity to participate in clinical and applied research. Each candidate will be expected to pursue an academic appointment as a Lecturer. Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to an inter-professional care model are also essential.

This position represents an opportunity to join a group of dedicated healthcare professionals in a progressive organization. The successful candidate will be licensed or eligible for a license to practice in Ontario with accreditation in Geriatric Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or its equivalent. They will have evidence of an academic interest and expertise and be eligible for a faculty position at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
