Horizon Health Network is currently seeking Internal Medicine Physician to join our team in beautiful Upper River Valley, New Brunswick!
The Internal Medicine Physician will join a well-established team of internists at the Upper River Valley Hospital (URVH) in Waterville, NB. This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide high-quality, comprehensive medical care in a rural setting serving a population of over 50,000. We have particular interest in internists with General Internal Medicine (GIM), endocrinology, or cardiology backgrounds, though all specialties will be considered based on local needs.

Job Duties:
- Provide an outpatient service for assessment and management of new and follow-up patients.
- Provide inpatient care on call.
- Participate in an equally shared on-call rotation.
- Admit internal medicine patients under own care where deemed necessary and appropriate.
- Provide consultations to inpatients and emergency room patients as requested by attending staff.
- Provide telephone consultation to colleagues.
- Equal opportunity among Internists to interpret tests including PFTs, ECGs, holters, etc.
- Teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students as can be accommodated.
- Participate in departmental and other appropriate URVH Area and/or regional Medical Specialities Program committees.
- Participate in medical practice that is compatible with the Health Authority’s mission, values and strategic directions.
- Other duties that may arise by circumstance and may be assigned by the Department of Internal Medicine.
Remuneration:
Fee for Service
Standard remuneration is Fee-for-Service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare of New Brunswick. On call remuneration is provided. No source deductions can be provided.
Qualifications:
- You have a MD (Medical Doctor) degree or a DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies (residency).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification is required
- Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
- Proficiency in English is required. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset.
- Experience in rural/underserved settings would be considered an asset.

Incentives:
$100,000.00 accompanied by a 4 year return of service.
Relocation allowance may be provided
About the Facility:
Situated west-centrally in New Brunswick, the Upper River Valley area, including the Town of Woodstock and the Town of Hartland, Horizon’s Upper River Valley Hospital serves a catchment population of 45,000. Many sites in this region are situated along the majestic St. John River valley and all sites are within driving distance of the province’s historic capital, Fredericton.
The hospital provides services to the Town of Woodstock, Town of Hartland several villages and other surrounding communities. The community’s economy is mainly based on natural resources and farming industries. The area has a diverse population distribution that is 60% rural and 40% urban.
The Upper River Valley Hospital is the newest hospital in New Brunswick. It has been designated as the first full-service hospital in Canada to be recognized as a leader in energy and environmental design.
