12-Month Locum Opportunity in a FHO/FHT Group Practice

A member of a 3-physician group practice on the Hamilton Mountain is seeking a locum to cover her practice for 3 days/week for 12 months starting January 2027. The ideal candidate will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. With a roster of approximately 1,000 patients the successful locum candidate can expect to see between 16-22 patients per day.

Typical practice hours are Monday to Friday 9:00-4:00PM and the locum will be required to provide on-call coverage to the FHO 1-2 weekday evenings per month and 2-3 weekends over the 12 months.

As part of a large 22-member FHO and the Hamilton Family Health Team, this practice is supported by a variety of allied health professionals including two full-time RPNs, a mental health counsellor, a dietitian, and a clinical pharmacist. The practice is located in the same building as a Hamilton Family Health Team hub site and as a result a HFHT Psychiatrist is on site and using the same EMR. The practice also receives administrative support from 2 full-time experienced admin staff.

The practice uses Telus PS EMR and the locum will have access to 1-3 exam rooms depending on the day and a shared office with a private workstation. This large and newly renovated space also includes nursing stations, a lunchroom and meeting area, and free parking for both staff and patients. 

The locum can expect to receive competitive remuneration via a combination of billings and daily stipend.
