The ED

• CKHA operates two 24/7 Emergency Departments at sites in Chatham and Wallaceburg with annual visits that are approximately 40,000 and 15,000 visits respectively.
• ED staff work a combination of main shifts in Chatham, rapid assessment shifts in Chatham, and shifts in Wallaceburg. Chatham shifts are double coverage while Wallaceburg is single coverage.
• Physicians are responsible for admission orders from 5pm-8am.

The Basics: Schedule, Payment, Call

• Shifts range from 8-12 hours long with no minimum commitment required
• Our AFA pays between $205-268.99 per hour, depending on the shift.
• Shadow billings of 37% (Chatham) and 10% (Wallaceburg) are paid on top of hourly rates.
• If you cover a HOCC shift you will get $547.32, just for putting your name on the schedule. If someone falls ill and you’re called in, you can bill Special Visit Premium codes as an added bonus.
• Free accommodations for locums: newly renovated 2-bedroom home steps from the hospital with laundry, Wi-Fi, furnishings, linens, cleaning and parking included.
• Recruitment incentives ($$$$$) are currently being offered for those who are ready to make a commitment.
