Job Description
Assisted Living Alberta is committed to providing services based on the population needs of Assisted Living and promoting a shared responsibility for improved health.
The Medical Lead shall provide services to Northwest area of Alberta in Seniors and Continuing Care.
This position will work collaboratively with the Senior Operating Officer, North area of Alberta and the medical and operational leaders responsible for seniors and continuing care across the North to support the delivery of safe, high-quality care. The medical leader will liaise with the provincial Medical leads for Seniors and Continuing Care, Acute Care Alberta, Recovery Alberta, Primary Care Alberta and other stakeholders as appropriate. The medical leader will actively contribute to the North area Seniors and Continuing Care programs and attend scheduled portfolio meetings.
Other duties include:
• Provide input into strategic planning for the Seniors and Continuing Care programs in the North area to ensure high quality patient and family centered care and system sustainability.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and support to physicians working within those program areas.
• Support development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote and support "best practice".
• Support quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
• Assist operational and medical leaders in the investigation and response to patient concerns.
• Recruitment, oversight and support of medical leaders in Northwest area seniors and Continuing Care programs.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will hold a CCFP or FRCPC designation and be eligible for a Medical Staff appointment with Alberta Health Services. Clinical and leadership experience managing the care of seniors across the continuing care spectrum will be beneficial.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Must read, write, and speak English.
