Job Description
The Kings County Memorial Hospital has opportunities for physicians to join their Community Hospital Emergency Department team providing a broad scope of emergency care within a rural hospital setting.
Located in the town of Montague, the Kings County Memorial Hospital (KCMH) is a key community hospital serving the residents of eastern Prince Edward Island. It is operated by Health PEI, a crown corporation responsible for the delivery of publicly funded health services in Prince Edward Island. Health PEI’s head office is located at 16 Garfield Street, Charlottetown, PEI.
KCMH is a 30‑bed community hospital that provides emergency, inpatient, and ambulatory care services, with the Emergency Department (ED) managing more than 16,000 patient visits each year. As an integral part of the provincial health system, the hospital plays an important role in delivering accessible, patient‑centered care to a diverse rural population. Physicians working at KCMH also have the opportunity to explore practice in other Emergency Medicine facilities across Prince Edward Island, supporting a varied and flexible clinical experience.
Our Emergency Department offers the essential accoutrements of a modern rural ED and supports a broad, hands‑on scope of practice. The department benefits from strong clinical pathways and seamless access to provincial specialty services, ensuring timely escalation of care when required.
