Job Title: Family Physician (NOC 3112)
Work Location and Mailing Address: 620 Dennis Street, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, R7A 5E7
Type of work: Full time
Clinic Hours: Mon-Fri 8am–5pm
Walk-In Service: Mon-Fri 9am–8pm | Sat 10am–4pm | Sun 10am–2pm
Hourly Salary or Annual Salary: Fee for service
Vacation: 1 month per year
Benefits: Signing Bonus, Group Insurance coverage for travel, extended health, dental and life insurance
Main Duties:
- Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
- Provide acute care management
- Vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases
- Advise patients and their families on health care including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention
- Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
- Perform patient advocacy role
- Co-ordinate or manage primary patient care
- Provide continuous care to patients
- Supervise home care services
- Report births, deaths, and contagious and other diseases to governmental authorities
Qualifications:
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of physicians and surgeons of Manitoba
- Must be a member in good standings with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
- CCFP preferred
Compensation:
Compensation is derived from Fee-For-Service income
