We are seeking two full-time family physicians – Obstetrics to join our collaborative team providing comprehensive prenatal care and shared call at Burnaby Hospital. We are a collegial group who work closely with our Obstetrician and midwifery groups. We are looking for a physician who is passionate about obstetrics, values teamwork, and is committed to both patient care and medical education.
This role involves providing full-scope primary care obstetrics, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, within a supportive, team-based environment. Call responsibilities are shared and well-supported by OBGYN and Pediatrics specialists, ensuring safe, high-quality care for both patients and providers.
In addition to clinical duties, the position includes a strong academic component. The successful candidate will be involved in teaching and mentoring medical learners, including Year 4 medical students (MSI) and R1/R2 Family Practice residents. This is an excellent opportunity for those with an interest in education and contributing to the development of future physicians.
Burnaby Hospital is a community 286-bed hospital with a Level 2 nursery (>32 wk gestational age) and manages close to 1,400 births per year. ER, Anesthesia, pediatrics and obstetrics deliver 24/7 call services. Our hospital provides an exceptional team that works well together in a collegial community setting. We are also very excited for the redevelopment of the hospital currently underway.
Anticipated start date is June 1, 2026 or sooner.
