Job Description
Seeking locum physician for my maternity leave - Start date is flexible no later than mid-August 2026 to August 2027. Please inquire even if only available for first half.
Practice Location: Sheddon Medical Associates, 209 Oak Park Blvd, Oakville (new building with modern amenities), Dynacare lab onsite
Overview: ~1,100 rostered + ~200 unrostered patients, blend of all patient ages/demographics. This is my 3rd maternity leave, excellent experience with previous locums (1 joined the practice, another recently secured academic FHT position)
Hours: 5-6 half-days/week (at least 4 in-person), each half-day = 3 hrs clinical + 1 hr admin, 15-minute appointments (longer for complex visits)
After-Hours (FHO): Light requirements (large ~30 physician group), ~1–2 evenings/month + minimal weekends/year
Clinic & Support: Clinic is physician owned and run (cost sharing arrangement amongst 8 physicians). TELUS PS Suite EMR (remote access), Ocean + online booking, Strong nursing + administrative support. Efficient, well-run clinic
Compensation: To be discussed, COMPETITIVE, negotiable and open to locum input given changes to FHO+ model. We could do a half-day top up rate with percentage of billings. Or we could do an arrangement whereby locum retains all capitation/billing minus monthly stipend for host physician and locum pays overhead. Will reflect potential mid-locum clinic transition to new location within 10 km of current location.
