Job Description

Join the General Internal Medicine (GIM) Division at Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) and become part of a dynamic, rapidly growing team. We are actively expanding our GIM services, including the launch of a new Nocturnist service, and are looking for skilled, passionate Internists to provide exceptional patient care alongside our dedicated team of general internists and subspecialists.

Why Choose Internal Medicine at WRH?

This isn't just a job; it's a chance to significantly impact a growing regional center. We offer a high-impact, diverse clinical practice with strong academic ties.

-      Diverse Practice Profile: Deliver comprehensive care across our campuses, from high-acuity inpatient services on our Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) to vital outpatient roles in consultative services, pre-assessment clinics, and urgent medicine referrals.

-      Embrace Growth: Be an integral part of launching and expanding our Nocturnist service - a key strategic growth area for the Division.

-      Strong Collaboration: Work within a highly collaborative model alongside our diverse hospitalist group, comprised of both general internal medicine physicians and family physicians.

-      Shape the Future: Actively contribute to medical education as WRH is affiliated with the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. You will have mandatory responsibilities to teach medical students and residents and pursue academic endeavors.

-      Private Practice Preference: Candidates seeking to establish a private office practice are preferred, offering an excellent foundation for building your own successful outpatient presence in the community.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

-      Provide expert consultation and management of diverse internal medicine conditions.

-      Actively participate in the provision of inpatient services on the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU).

-      Contribute to the expanding Nocturnist service.

-      Maintain a mandatory engagement in the medical education of students and residents, upholding the standards of our Schulich School of Medicine affiliation.

-      Maintain the highest standards of patient care and contribute to a positive, cohesive clinical environment.

What You Bring to Our Team:

We are looking for dedicated Internists who are ready to make a long-term commitment to our team and community.

-      Certification: Have, or be eligible for, certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC), in Internal Medicine.

o   Note: Applications from 5-year post-graduate General Internal Medicine (GIM) trainees are preferred.

-      Licensure: Eligible for Independent Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

-      Academic Commitment: A demonstrated interest in clinical teaching and program building is essential.

-      Academic Appointment: The successful applicant must apply for an academic appointment with the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.

If you are a passionate Internist who meets these requirements and is driven to deliver exceptional patient care in a growing academic environment, we encourage you to apply today!

Why Windsor-Essex?

The Windsor-Essex area is ecologically rich with extensive parkland along with a southwest location that extends warm weather activities such a golfing, gardening, and water sports. Windsor offers the unique opportunities of a larger metropolitan area and the benefits of a smaller community. Living directly across the border from Detroit, Michigan places you on a cosmopolitan stage where arts, culture, big league sports, and entertainment are just moments away. Best of all, you can enjoy access to all of these big-city advantages while living in the relative tranquility (and low costs) of a much smaller, friendlier community.
