Position Summary:
The Primary Care Program is seeking Family Medicine Physicians for Locum Tenens positions to join our Newborn Care Assessment Team at the Credit Valley Hospital Site. This innovative and collaborative team is dedicated to delivering high-quality newborn care in a supportive, equitable, and continually evolving environment. Physicians will be responsible for inpatient newborn care, including weekends and statutory holidays, with a commitment of minimum four (4) to six (6) shifts per month based on program needs. This opportunity offers the chance to work alongside a dedicated group of professionals in a progressive academic health organization. In addition to clinical responsibilities, successful candidates will have access to diverse opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and medical education.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide hospital-based newborn care
· Participate in medical education through teaching undergraduate and postgraduate learners (University of Toronto affiliation)
· Foster an inter-professional, patient-centered model of care
· Engage in clinical and applied research opportunities, if desired
· Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and program development, if desired
Qualifications:
· Licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
· Certification in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, equity, and continuous improvement
The organization is an affiliated academic teaching centre with the University of Toronto. The preferred candidates would be expected to participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners and also have the opportunity to participate in clinical and applied research. The preferred candidates will also have the opportunity to diversify their clinical work with participation in teaching and contribute to quality improvement and program development activities while developing medical leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to an inter-professional care model are also essential.
The successful candidate will be licensed in good standing in Ontario or eligible for a license to practice in Ontario.
