The Department of Surgery at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is inviting applications for a full time Orthopaedic Surgeon to join its team.

The surgeon will concentrate their practice on pediatric orthopaedic patients and contribute to the orthopaedic surgery on-call coverage. Experience with adult sports, hand or arthroplasty cases in addition to pediatric orthopaedics is ideal. Candidates with an interest in clinical program development, teaching and research are desired. The candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

The income for this position is derived from a variety of sources including but not limited to clinical billings. On-call rotation is supported by a Hospital On-Call stipend. The candidate can also apply for a $80,000+ recruitment incentive for working in Northwestern Ontario. The surgeon will receive an equitable share of the OR and fracture clinic resources that are available to the Orthopaedic Surgery group.

Our hospital is a 395 funded bed acute care facility which provides coverage to a regional population base of 250,000 people. Delivering all services daily including acting as the Regional Trauma Centre and Cancer Referral Centre for the Northwestern Ontario region with plans to include Cardiac Surgery by 2028.
