A FHO/FHT physician practicing within a 7-member group in a large, newly built location in Waterdown, ON is seeking a physician to take over his practice in June 2026 (specific start date flexible). With the ability to locum at the practice prior to taking over, this is an excellent opportunity for those looking to ease into a well-supported FHO/FHT practice in the sought-after town of Waterdown (located approximately 1 hour West of downtown Toronto and 25 minutes North of downtown Hamilton).

The successful candidate will take over a roster of ~1,500 patients (and ~200 un-rostered), at a practice that sees no more than 20 patients per day. The diverse roster is comprised of approximately 60% male and 40% female patients, with ages ranging from infants to 90+ years old. The incoming physician will have the option to continue providing shared care obstetrics with OBGYNs in both Hamilton and Burlington if desired.

Each physician in the FHO is entitled to 6 weeks of annual vacation coverage through the FHO and up to 3 weeks sick leave and 2 weeks CME. The successful candidate will be required to provide after-hours call coverage to the FHO for 1 evening per week until 7 pm, as well as weekend on-call coverage once every 7 weeks.

The practice is supported by an experienced team of administrative professionals including an office administrator, a secretary, 5 receptionists, a billing clerk and a referrals clerk. As part of the Hamilton Family Health Team the practice also receives extensive allied health support from 5 registered nurses, a dietitian, a chiropodist, a clinic pharmacist (who runs travel and diabetic clinics), 2 social workers and a psychiatrist who provide in-person coverage at the practice 2 days every other week. The practice typically supports 4 learners (both residents and medical students) each year.

The practice is in a newly built ~9,000 sq. foot space in the fast-growing town of Waterdown.  The building is also home to a pharmacy and audiologist on the main floor and additional medical tenants will be moving in upstairs as well. Each physician in the group has access to 2 patient exam rooms and a separate dedicated workstation in the physician lounge. The space also provides a large procedure room for minor surgery, a large kitchen and conference room, separate staff and patient washrooms, and ample free parking for both patients and staff. The office is fully digital, with patient records managed through Telus EMR, Ocean for e-referrals, and Pomelo patient messaging system.
