Job Description
Description:
An exciting position with a specialized focus in addiction medicine currently exists within Recovery Alberta. This opportunity is based at our West Edmonton ODP Outreach Clinic, a spoke site of the Opioid Dependency and Enhanced Addiction Clinic (ODEAC). The outreach clinic extends the ODEAC’s mission into the community, providing Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) and comprehensive addiction care to all individuals, including those who may face barriers accessing traditional clinic-based services.
If your practice aligns with our clinical foundations of being recovery-oriented, strength-based, and hope-inspired, this may be the opportunity for you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide medical services including assessments, follow up care, treatment planning/referrals, ordering lab & imaging tests, writing/reviewing prescriptions (including Suboxone as well as triplicates: Methadone/Slow Release Oral Morphine), treatment of co-occurring substance use disorders, and medical leadership within the team.
This physician will work 0.1–0.2 FTE between Monday to Friday, with an equitable portion of on-call inclusive of weekends and statutory holidays (7AM-7PM). Remuneration is fee-for-service with a highly attractive income guarantee and hourly rate for on-call.
Compensation:
Remuneration is based on Fee for Service model with access to an Income Guarantee.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have an MD, with a CCFP or FRCPC designation, will be eligible for licensure in the province of Alberta and will hold a methadone license. Physicians, including Family Physicians as well as Psychiatrists who currently hold addiction medicine certification, have relevant training or have a keen interest in learning addiction medicine are encouraged to express interest. Experience with addictions, opioid dependency and an ability to effectively manage patients in crisis are definite assets.
