Job Description
Stratford General Hospital (SGH) is recruiting a Full and/or Part Time Emergency Physician to join the team!
Shifts:
-8 hour shifts, with 16 hours of double coverage daily (solo from 01:00-07:00).
-24/7 on call support for volume and transfers.
-Comprehensive AFA and shadow billing remuneration.
-Scheduling through PetalMD software, with equitable scheduling among all members, and easy shift trades.
-Tight-knit and supportive physician group, with a combination of new-to-practice, mid-career, and seasoned physicians.
Education & Professional Development:
-Popular teaching site for medical students and residents, with opportunity for mentoring and faculty appointment.
-Opportunities for research and quality improvement projects, if interested.
-Robust education program, including quarterly simulation sessions, guest speakers, M&M Rounds & Annual Retreat.
-Skills days, including chest tubes and cric, POCUS refresher.
-Group ACLS recertification, and plans to start PALS/NRP.
Services:
-SGH is a 126 bed hospital and the specialist referral centre for the region. The site bed mix includes an adult ICU, general medicine & surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics and step-down neonatal unit, adult inpatient mental health, rehabilitation services, outpatient dialysis and chemo units.
-Busy ED with ~ 100 visits daily, and one of the highest acuity sites in the province (~30% CTAS 1 & 2).
-Excellent consultant support including Internal Medicine/ICU, Pediatrics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Urology, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Plastics, Psychiatry & Hospitalist.
-24/7 Respiratory Therapy coverage.
-24/7 access to CT without having to call a radiologist first. MRI on-site.
-Social Work/Crisis services for mental health assessments in the ED.
Provincially recognized Regional Stroke Program, led by our Internal Medicine Group.
Community:
-We are a small city with ~35,000 residents, and growing.
-SGH's catchment area includes Huron & Perth Counties, with a population ~150,000.
-Located less than 1 hr from Kitchener and London, 1.5 hrs from Toronto, and 1 hr from the shores of Lake Huron.
