Alberta Health Services – North Zone and the Diagnostic Imaging team for the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre, are currently looking for a Diagnostic Radiologist to join their current team of Radiologist. This position will provide Radiology services, with a key focus in reading patient scans.

The successful candidate will be required join the already established Cold Lake Diagnostic Imaging community practice, within Cold Lake, and within the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre on occasion, to offer consistent Diagnostic Radiologist services.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Establish and maintain a full-time practice within the community of Cold Lake, with flexibility to offer remote based services if visiting another site, when and where necessary.
• Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services.
• Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including equal participation in the Diagnostic Radiologist call schedule, as required.
• Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Diagnostic Radiology.
• Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
• Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties, as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.

Our 250 berth marina, the largest inland marina in western Canada, provides access to almost 400 square kilometers of open water with lots of sandy beaches.  Fishing is a favorite pastime here, which is not surprising since the lake supports a very diverse fish population.  We’re famous for our six species of angling game fish and hold the angling record in Alberta for Lake Trout.  

Cold Lake is part of the Northern Lights School Division and offers education in the public sector as well as Separate and there is also a choice of Francophone.

Candidate must have hands on Diagnostic Imaging/Medical Imaging experience in Rural setting within the past 1-2 years. Experience in offering these services as the sole provider required.
