Low Volume Rural ED Locum Required on the Ottawa River

Residing in the heart of a beautiful cottage country on the shores of both the Ottawa and Mattawa River, we service six local rural townships with a total catchment population of 6 000.

Located directly on the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 17), Mattawa is approximately 4 hours from Toronto and 4 hours from Ottawa.

Job Summary:

The ED Physician will be responsible for assessing Emergency Department visits from the community during their shift.  Shifts run for 24 hours and start at 8:00 a.m.  On average you will see 25 patients on a weekday and 25 during the weekend.

Our convenient layover room within the hospital provides the opportunity to rest between patients overnight.  On average our physicians are able to sleep 6+ hours/night.

1 ED nurse lead + 1 Emergency Department nurse available 24 hrs + 1 Floating Nurse if required.
