Orthopedic Surgeon – Full-Time Opportunities
Health Sciences North (HSN), Sudbury, ON
Health Sciences North (HSN) is seeking full-time Orthopedic Surgeons to join a dynamic and collaborative orthopedic team. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medical education, and contributing to innovative clinical research in orthopedics.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in general orthopedic surgery, with subspecialty training in Arthroplasty and additional training or a strong interest in Trauma. Locum opportunities may also be available.
About HSN:
Health Sciences North (HSN) is the largest hospital in Northern Ontario and serves as the tertiary care referral center for over 600,000 residents across a vast geographic region. Our Surgical Program is comprised of a diverse team of more than 75 surgeons, representing a wide range of specialties. The program is supported by an integrated team of anesthesiologists, internists, intensivists, perioperative nurses, and allied health professionals, all working collaboratively to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Features of the Surgical Program:
- 17 state-of-the-art operating room suites
- Comprehensive perioperative services, including a Level III ICU
- Dedicated surgical units and ambulatory care suites
- Regional cancer center and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong academic affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM-U) and the opportunity to be involved with research through the Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI)
- Over 16,000 operative procedures annually
Requirements:
- Eligibility for independent practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Canadian or US Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery
- Fellowship training in Arthroplasty and Trauma
- Candidates with Arthroplasty training and an interest and competence in Trauma may be considered
- US-trained candidates are encouraged to apply – HSN supports immigration and work permits
- Faculty appointment with NOSM-University
- Equal participation in Orthopedic Surgery on-call rotation (1 in 9)
