The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians from outside the province for locum coverage in Saskatoon and Regina. These assignments provide an exciting opportunity to work in Saskatchewan’s busiest Emergency Departments, delivering care to diverse patient populations with full access to specialist and diagnostic support.Locums providing services in Saskatoon will support department scheduling priorities and may provide coverage in any of the city’s three Emergency Departments: St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon City Hospital, and Royal University Hospital, the province’s Level I Trauma Centre.Locums providing services in Regina will support the departmental scheduling priorities and may provide coverage in either of the city’s two Emergency Departments—Regina General Hospital and Pasqua Hospital— which may include coverage at the Regina Urgent Care Centre.Locum assignments are flexible with lengths from 1 week to 3 months.
Reimbursements:flat rate per week assignment for travel (including but not limited to airfare, travel time, car rental, accommodations, and meals)- $7,000/week for the first 7 days
- $3,000/week for subsequent weeks in the same trip (prorated if not a full 7 days)
- No receipts required
Completion and Return Incentives:Completion bonus of $1,000/week if reoccurring coverage is provided- minimum of 5 shifts over 7 days, 3 times within a 3-month period, ex. 15 fully scheduled shifts in 3 months
Returning locum bonus of $1,000 per subsequent locum assignments- minimum of 5 shifts over 7 day assignment
Remuneration:Saskatoon Emergency Rooms- $255.90/hr (Weekday 0700-1700)
- $319.88/hr (Weekday 1700-2400)
- $383.85/hr (Weekday 2400-0700)
- $319.88/hr (Weekend 0700-1700)
- $383.85/hr (Weekend 1700-2400)
- $447.83/hr (Weekend 2400-0700)
Regina Emergency Rooms- $293.56/hr(0800-1700)
- $320.27/hr (1700-2400)
- $390.96/hr (2400-0800)

Qualifications:
Certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada in Emergency Medicine (CFPC-EM), be a fellow with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Emergency Medicine (FRCPC) or certified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM).Regular License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed)Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS and PALSValid driver’s licenseSuccessful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sectorCurrent Canadian Medical Protective Association coverageLegal entitlement to work in Canada
