Job Description
Covenant Health and Westgrove Maternity Clinic invites applications from Family Physicians with Primary Care Obstetrics experience to join their team.
Westgrove Maternity is a small, close-knit team of physicians and allied health professionals committed to providing evidence-based, high-quality prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care. Outpatient care is delivered at the Westgrove Clinic in Spruce Grove with a strong emphasis on collaboration, continuity, and patient-centred practice.
Our team works closely with the in-house obstetrical and NICU teams at the Misericordia Hospital, fostering strong interprofessional relationships and seamless transitions of care. Home call is shared equitably among physician colleagues to support physician wellness and a sustainable practice model.
We are seeking a new team member with a genuine passion for women’s health and maternity care who values working in a supportive, collegial, and highly collaborative environment. Familiarity with Connect Care and Accuro is preferred.
Qualifications:
· The successful candidate will have completed a two-year Family Medicine Residence, including a demonstrated interest in Family Medicine Obstetrics (FMOB).
· The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada and for medical licensure in the province of Alberta.
· Previous experience in primary care setting, working within a group setting would be beneficial.
Personal Attributes:
· Strong clinical skills, with the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of obstetric and gynecological conditions.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic bedside manner.
· Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with colleagues to provide the best possible care for patients.
· Commitment to delivering patient-centered care with a focus on safety, quality, and positive outcomes.
· Demonstrated commitment to quality care, patient safety and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
· Understanding of Just Culture principles in healthcare.
License/ Certification(s):
· Medical degree from an accredited institution
· Valid license to practice medicine in Alberta, Canada
· CMPA membership for Family Medicine/Obstetrics
