This is an exciting time for Academic Family Medicine in Calgary. The Department of Family Medicine (DFM)—a shared initiative between Primary Care Alberta (PCA), Alberta Health Services (AHS), and the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine—is pleased to invite applications for one permanent part-time Family Physician Preceptors (0.4 FTE) at the South Health Campus Family Medicine Teaching Centre, starting July 1, 2026.

Why This Role Matters

As a Family Physician Preceptor, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping future family physicians while maintaining your own clinical practice. You’ll combine meaningful teaching, longitudinal patient relationships, and team-based care within an innovative academic teaching clinic.

Academic & Departmental Engagement

  • Attend clinical operations, academic, and team meetings as available
  • Participate in educational development and interprofessional learning opportunities
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and respectful care

Our Commitment

Ready to Inspire the Next Generation?

Please submit:

  • A letter of application addressing teaching philosophy; scholarly, professional, and creative work; administrative service; research; and experience with interprofessional education
