Family Physician Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and maintain accurate medical histories.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe and administer treatments, medications, and immunizations.
• Provide vaccinations, preventive care, and health coaching to support patients in achieving lifestyle and wellness goals.
• Counsel patients and families on health, lifestyle, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, allied health professionals, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Stay updated on advancements in medical technology and evidence-based practices to continuously improve patient outcomes.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with patients and the community.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution
• Certification in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP)
• Eligible for an independent practice license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Licensure by the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC or equivalent)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical practice experience preferred (new graduates and international medical graduates with CPSO eligibility are welcome to apply)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-centered care skills
