We are seeking Pathologists: Sault Area Hospital (SAH) is searching for General (AP/CP) or AP Pathologists to become part of our collegial and well-established group of General & Anatomical Pathologists. SAH also hosts a Regional Forensic Pathology Unit under the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service with an on-site Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified Forensic Pathologist. RCPSC certified Forensic Pathologists are also encouraged to apply.
Opportunity: Provide on-call and intra-operative consultation coverage, surgical pathology, cytopathology, autopsy service, and participation in multidisciplinary conferences and quality assurance. Depending on your skillset there is also opportunity to participate in peripheral blood film review, forensic service, and bone marrow collection. Engage in academia with an affiliation to NOSM University and mentor medical students and residents. Embrace research opportunities, supported by the Sault Ste. Marie Academic Medical Association.
You bring: Candidates should have fellowship credentials from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or be exam-eligible. Eligibility for an independent practice license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is a requisite.
Where you will live: Perched on the St. Mary's River, Sault Ste. Marie seamlessly blends urban amenities with nature's beauty, bridging Lake Huron and Lake Superior at the Canada–United States border. This dynamic city offers rich cultural experiences, year-round outdoor activities, and an esteemed school system. Whether indulging in arts or embarking on wilderness adventures, there's something for everyone. Plus, with connectivity ensured by multiple Canadian and American airlines, Sault Ste. Marie stands as a convenient, vibrant destination.
Where you will practice: Sault Area Hospital (SAH), a state-of-the-art, up-to-300-bed facility that opened in 2011, serves the city and the District of Algoma, supporting a catchment population of approximately 115,000. SAH offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including the Algoma District Cancer Program and a Regional Renal Program, along with full diagnostic support featuring a 1.5 Tesla MRI and two CT Scanners.
