Magenta Health is looking for a locum family physician to cover a maternity leave starting June 1 2026, for 9-12 months.  The exact end date can be tailored to the locum's needs.  

The locum will take place at Magenta Health’s Midtown clinic, located at 418 Eglington Ave W, Toronto.  We will need coverage for approximately 16-20 hours per week; this includes patient care and ample time for paperwork.  This can be spread over 3 - 4 days depending on the locum's schedule, and the specific days/hours are flexible.  This can also involve a combination of virtual and in person care, though in person care should account for at least 80% of scheduled visits. You would also be expected to cover After Hours Clinic, which equates to on average 1-2 shifts per month (evening 5-8 pm or weekends 9 am-12 pm).

Magenta Health is a family medicine clinic built by family physicians like yourself.  We’ve created an environment that emphasizes physician happiness, well-being, and work-life balance.  To us, that means supporting physicians with people, technology, and spaces designed to let physicians focus on being an effective clinician, first and foremost.  

The clinic is staffed by 10 other friendly family physicians and great supportive staff.  There is nursing and medical assistant support.  The practice that you will be covering is a FHO practice of approximately 900 well-managed patients.  The patients are mostly young, healthy professionals, and all very friendly.  We have a highly customized electronic medical record system and most patient-physician communication is done through email.  

Compensation will be at a competitive income sharing rate, including capitation, shadow billing, and third party billings. You will be compensated for time spent doing paperwork (including corresponding with patients), and will be able to access the EMR from home if desired.
