The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA)-Regina is seeking an exceptional Pediatrician to be part of our dynamic and expanding department. Successful candidates will join our department on a full-time basis, providing both inpatient pediatric services and outpatient pediatric clinics in Regina as well as delivering care to First Nations children on reserve. Competitive Remuneration under the ACFP contract.Call requirements are negotiated to ensure appropriate coverage while providing the necessary work-life balance for department members. Currently call requirements range from 2-5 overnight calls per month and 3-6 weeks on duty in the Pediatric Teaching Unit (PTU) per year. Those participating in calls are reimbursed as part of the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program and also bill fee-for-service for work completed.Regina’s Pediatric Department includes a diverse blend of Pediatricians, a Developmental Pediatrician, a Pediatric Nephrologist, a Pediatric Respirologist, a Pediatric Clinical Immunologist & Allergist. We also have 2 Pediatric Emergency Physicians and are actively recruiting for one more, as well as 2 Pediatric Surgeons with a 3
rd starting in the near future. The Pediatric Teaching Unit (PTU) has up to 26 beds including 4 high acuity beds and provides care for approximately 2,600 children per year and we are proud of the fact that it has been awarded the “Most Learner Friendly Unit” several years in a row, by the Regina College of Medicine. The NICU is a 25 bed tertiary care center that is supported by our team of 5 Neonatologists. In addition, some Pediatricians provide care at the Wascana Rehabilitation Center for children with complex developmental needs. Children requiring PICU care are transferred to a provincial PICU in Saskatoon following stabilization.The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. Members of the department are eligible for appointment to the faculty of the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, and take part in academic services, including teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate learners. Weekly Pediatric Grand Rounds are provided by telehealth from Saskatoon in addition to monthly Pediatric Educational Rounds and Quality Improvement meetings held locally. The successful applicant is expected to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Pediatrics in the Regina Area.

Certified or eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Pediatrics and be eligible for provisional or regular licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and current criminal record check with vulnerable sectorCurrent Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage or equivalent Legal entitlement to work in CanadaThis individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to the provision of high quality patient and family-centered care.The SHA is committed to building a representative, diverse, inclusive and culturally responsive workforce.
