Join a Leading Regional Centre for Interventional Radiology
The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiologist to join our dynamic and collegial team of fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologists. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice the full scope of modern Interventional Radiology in a well-supported, technologically advanced environment serving a large and diverse regional population.
About RVH
Located in the vibrant and rapidly growing city of Barrie, just north of the GTA and nestled along the shores of Kempenfelt Bay. RVH is recognized for clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centred care, and continues to expand its regional programs and services to meet the needs of a growing population. RVH is the regional referral centre for North Simcoe/Muskoka.
The Interventional Radiology Program
The Interventional Radiology program at RVH provides comprehensive services to the entire North Simcoe/Muskoka region. Our team includes:
- Five experienced Interventional Radiologists
- A dedicated group of highly trained IR technologists and nurses with specialized training in interventional procedures
- A collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary environment
Facilities & Equipment
- Two fully equipped, state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology suites
- Dedicated pre- and post-procedure nursing care area
- Full diagnostic imaging support
- Strong integration with oncology, vascular surgery, nephrology, emergency medicine, trauma, and other key programs
Scope of Practice
The successful candidate will join a team performing a broad range of advanced interventional procedures, including:
Vascular & Peripheral Arterial Disease
- Peripheral arterial and vascular interventions
- Diagnostic angiography and venography
- Acute bleeding management (thoracic, abdominal, pelvic, upper and lower extremities, including traumatic bleeding)
Oncology Interventions
- Treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma
- Management of renal cell carcinoma
- Ablation of osteoid osteoma
- Uterine fibroid embolization
Dialysis & Venous Access
- Hemodialysis interventions, including:
- Blocked arterio-venous grafts and fistulae
- Placement of hemodialysis catheters
- Placement of:
- PICC lines
- Port-a-catheters
- Tunnelled venous catheters
Other Advanced Interventions
- Vertebral fracture management
- Joint pain interventions
- Nephrostomy and biliary drainage procedures
- Image-guided biopsies
- Management of obstructed kidneys and bile ducts
- Varicocele embolization
This position offers the opportunity to maintain and expand a broad, high-acuity interventional radiology practice in a supportive regional referral centre.
Call Responsibilities
All members of the Department of Medical Imaging are expected to participate in the on-call rota, contributing to after-hours and weekend coverage in a fair and equitable manner alongside departmental colleagues.

Qualifications
- Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
