Job Description
The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applications for a pediatric echocardiography position within the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. This position is a full time (1.0 FTE) tenure track (contingent) position, 50-60% clinical service and 40-50% academic pursuits divided between research, teaching, and administrative duties (negotiable). In addition to general clinical inpatient and outpatient service, the applicant is expected to participate in duties in both the echocardiography laboratory and the fetal cardiology service.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will join 19 pediatric cardiologists and three associated researchers providing a full spectrum of clinical pediatric cardiology services with expertise in multi-modal diagnostic imaging, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, fetal cardiology, heart failure, cardiac transplantation, ventricular assist device application, and preventive cardiology. In addition to clinical care, the division is active in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels and engaged in research in several areas of expertise.
Qualifications
Interested applicants must have:
● MD degree (or equivalent)
● Completed subspecialty training in Pediatrics and subspecialty training in Pediatric Cardiology
● >1 years of dedicated training in advanced Pediatric Echocardiography, that includes experience in clinical Three-Dimensional Echocardiography and/or Fetal cardiology
● Advanced training or experience in research

● Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
