Job Description

Description:

The Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services – Calgary Zone invites applications for one 1.0 FTE Prosthodontist. The successful candidate will work primarily as part of the Dental Clinic at the Arthur Child Cancer Care Centre (ACCC) and occasionally at the Alberta Children’s Hospital which provide comprehensive dental care to patients with medical complexities within the city of Calgary and surrounding areas.  
The ACCC is a word-class facility providing multidisciplinary care that enables access to comprehensive cancer care services for the patients of Calgary and southern Alberta.  The ACH dental clinic sees on average 3000 children each year, of which providing care to children with complex care needs.  Both clinics consist of dentists and dental assistants who work collaboratively to support patients within the clinics as well as provide support and consultation to other teams such as the Head and Neck Cancer, Cleft Palate, Cranial Facial, TMJ multidisciplinary teams. Both clinics works collaboratively with community dental partners to facilitate patient transitions to community dental care. The ACCC and ACH Dental Clinics also enjoys a strong partnership with educational institutions in the way of teaching and mentoring dental students and residents.

The Prosthodontist will become a member of the Section of Dentistry and Oral Health, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.    


The Prosthodontist will provide prosthodontic services with the section of Dentistry for removable and fixed prosthodontics and for teaching of the GPR residents.  They will also provide consultation and participate in treatment of patients with the oral and maxillofacial surgery service for implant rehabilitation and prosthetic services for the Cleft Palate, TMJ, Cranio-facial, and Maxillofacial oncology patients.

Qualifications:

DMD/DDS.

Prosthodontics Specialty Certification.

NDSE certification in Prosthodontics

Fellowship of the Royal College Dentists of Canada

Formal Maxillofacial Prosthodontics postgraduate training is preferred

Eligibility for licensure with the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta.
