Position Profile
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) – Southwest Department of Surgery in Swift Current is seeking a Physician to join the Surgical Assistant team. The successful candidate will support surgical services by providing peri-operative assistance to surgeons, contributing to safe, timely, and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide surgical assistance across a range of procedures as required by the Division of Surgery.
- Participate in scheduled operating room activities and related peri-operative care.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiology, nursing, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in call or scheduled coverage as determined by service needs.
- Comply with all SHA bylaws, policies, and professional practice standards.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation model: Fee-For-Service
Benefits and professional expenses are the responsibility of the Physician unless otherwise specified in an agreement.

- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).
- Demonstrated training and experience appropriate to providing surgical assistant services.
- Strong interpersonal and team-based care skills.
