The Opportunity

Our team of 22 Anesthesiologists practicing both general and specialty skills is looking for a full-time physician to join them following a successful practice assessment locum.

This collegial team encourages personal development and works with state-of-the-art equipment. The following specialties are represented in Peterborough: Vascular, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Gynecology, Ear Nose and Throat, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Maxillary facial/Dental and Urology. We provide coverage for 12 operating rooms and the Department of Surgical Services performs 21,000 procedures yearly. Beyond the OR, involvement extends to the obstetrics pre-anesthetic clinic, five (5) endoscopy rooms, interventional radiology (IR) case coverage, a dedicated Labour and Delivery OR, the pain clinic, and acute pain management services. Remuneration is via fee-for-service billing to the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Minimum expected annual earnings for a full-time practicing Anesthesiologist working at our hospital and in our region is more than $450,000. Benefits are not applicable for this position. Language of work is English

Position Qualifications:

Currently registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

Fellow Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Strong interpersonal skills ant ability to work effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, directors, managers and the community as required.

Eligible for staff privileges at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.

Evidence of ongoing continued medical education.

Demonstrated interest in patient safety and quality improvement.
