Position Description:
The Department of Pediatrics at the Alberta Children’s Hospital invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Pediatric Cardiologist position. This position is within the Section of Pediatric Cardiology, and the primary work site is at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. This position is funded by the Alberta Academic Medical Health Services Program (AMHSP).
The target start date for this position is July 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of general pediatric cardiology, which includes inpatient and outpatient duties as required, and will provide shared consultation service with the Section of Pediatric Cardiology, including participation in the call schedule.
Experience in pediatric heart failure and heart transplantation, including management of pre-transplant evaluation and post-operative and long-term heart transplant follow-up from an inpatient and outpatient perspective is required. The successful candidate will also work additional clinics for Pediatric Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathy and Transplant patients.
There are several opportunities for collaboration, with strong ties between Pediatric Cardiology, Neonatal Critical Care, Pediatric Critical Care, Adult Cardiology, Medical Genetics, and Stollery Children's Hospital.
The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an academic appointment within the Cumming School of Medicine, with participation in the education of undergraduate and postgraduate students who rotate through the Section of Pediatric Cardiology.
