Alberta Health Services (AHS), Calgary Corridor invites applications for the role of Zone Clinical Section Chief, Pediatric Rheumatology, Department of Pediatrics.

This 0.10 FTE position, governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead of Pediatrics. The Department is concurrently seeking applications for a 1.0 FTE position in Pediatric Rheumatology. Candidates may wish to consider applying to both positions.

The Section Chief Pediatric Rheumatology is a leadership role contributing guidance and advice for strategic planning, project development and quality care for patients receiving clinical care through the Section of Pediatric Rheumatology. This medical-administrative leader will work with the medical leadership team contributing expert guidance and advice to matters within the Department of Pediatrics.

This leader position is accountable for ensuring effective support at the site level for patient safety, quality management, teaching and research, promoting educational programs and developing/promoting departmental research activities for section members. The role will also support recruitment and retention of physicians to the section and liaise with other site medical leaders.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience. 
Applicants must hold an MD and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) in Pediatrics and Rheumatology.
Clinical experience in Pediatric Rheumatology is required. The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.  Must read, write, and speak English.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority.
