The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applications from pediatric endocrinology physicians for a position within the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta and the Department of Child Health, Alberta Health Services. This position is a full time (1.0 FTE) position, with 80% time for clinical duties and 20% time for academic pursuits.
We are looking for a clinician to engage in general endocrinology, diabetes clinics, and thyroid cancer clinics. The successful applicant will join seven academic physicians in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology with expertise in many areas including diabetes, clinical trial work, medical education, quality improvement, and a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons accredited training program. Within the clinical mandate of the Department and Division, the successful candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient consultation and long-term care for children with endocrine diseases. They will share in overnight and weekend provision of endocrine and diabetes care. Within the academic mandate of the Department and Division the successful candidate will participate in already existing active educational scholarship and research programs. Qualifications:
Applicants must hold an MD and have completed a specialty residency in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology. Preference will be given to candidates with training and/or expertise in pediatric thyroid cancer care. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and hold appropriate liability coverage.
