CLINICAL CARDIOLOGIST
Sault Area Hospital is seeking recruitment of a clinical cardiologist to complement a growing team of cardiac specialists in our community. This individual will bring a focus on ambulatory cardiology and non-invasive diagnostics. The ideal candidate may also have special training and expertise in one of the following; heart function, cardiac imaging, nuclear cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology and pacing, cardiac intensive care, or cardiac prevention and rehabilitation. Specialized skills will be viewed as a strategic asset for the program and region, and corresponding opportunities to participate both clinically and with program development will be created to align the position with those specialized skills.

Sault Area Hospital (SAH), a state-of-the-art, up-to-300-bed facility that opened in 2011, serves the city and the District of Algoma, supporting a catchment population of approximately 115,000. SAH offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including the Algoma District Cancer Program and a Regional Renal Program, along with full diagnostic support featuring a 1.5 Tesla MRI and two CT Scanners.
The internal medicine program is represented by specialists in cardiology, critical care, dermatology, gastroenterology, general internal medicine, geriatrics, hematology, infectious diseases, medical oncology, nephrology, respirology and rheumatology. Additionally, there is diagnostic imaging support which includes state-of-the-art 1.5 Tesla MRI and two CT Scanners with access to interventional DI. The hospital supports a full-time pulmonary function lab, endoscopy unit, nuclear medicine and ultrasonography. Sault Area Hospital has a medicine program comprised of a hospitalist program, general internal medicine unit, ED medical consults and a follow-up clinic.
Candidates should have fellowship credentials from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or be exam-eligible. Eligibility for an independent practise license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is a requisite.
